IOUG Speaker Guidelines

    The COLLABORATE 17 - IOUG Forum takes place April 2-6, 2017 at The Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

     
    In order to be considered for inclusion in the COLLABORATE 17 - IOUG Forum; please confirm your compliance with the terms and conditions of the IOUG speaker guidelines.

    1.  I agree to submit the program materials for my session by the deadlines in order to receive compensation outlined below. Registration codes will be sent after all materials are submitted. All sessions that have missing materials after the deadline are subject to cancellation.

    2.  I grant to the Independent Oracle Users Group (IOUG) a non-exclusive, royalty –free, perpetual, worldwide license to distribute, copy or otherwise publish my Program Materials to the IOUG’s members and/or the general public prior to, at the time of, and after, my presentation at the IOUG’s conference.  “Program Materials” includes all supporting materials to the program/presentation (e.g. PowerPoint slides, Technical White Papers, etc.) and any video or audio tapes made of such presentation/program.  The IOUG’s publication or distribution of the Program Materials may be made in any format, including hard copy, electronic or via posting on the IOUG’s website and may be subject to a fee charged by IOUG.  It is agreed that the IOUG will not be held responsible for royalties or any damages resulting from intellectual property infringement from either (I) the IOUG’s use and distribution of the Program Materials in a manner consistent with this agreement, or (II) any use or misuse of any of the Program Materials by any person who obtains the Program Materials (directly or indirectly) as a result of the IOUG’s permitted use and distribution of the Program Materials.
    *Pre-Conference Workshops are excluded

    3.  I attest that I am the owner of all content and intellectual property included in my presentation and handouts, and, as such, have the right to grant IOUG the above license.

    4.  I agree to upload the required program materials for my session by the following deadlines:

    • February 20 - Optional Technical White Paper (PDF or Microsoft Word)
    • February 20 - Presentation (PDF or PPT)

    5.  All IOUG sessions must be educational in nature. I agree to the following rules regarding marketing my company’s products and services in my Program Materials and within my session.

    Permitted

    • One page within the technical white paper
    • Two slides within the presentation materials (maximum of five minutes)
    • Collecting business cards and/or contact information for a drawing.  It must be shared with the attendees beforehand how their information will be used if they participate
    • Flyers or promotional marketing materials are only allowed on the back table in the session room and are not to be handed out

    Not Permitted

    • No scanning permitted
    • Signage of any kind

    6.  I agree to maintain a professional demeanor, including refraining from improper language or behavior towards conference attendees which may be deemed inappropriate by the IOUG.

    7.  I agree to check into the Speaker Ready Room at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, no less than 60-minutes prior to my first session.

    8.  I understand that I am responsible for my own hotel and travel.

    9.  I agree to bring my laptop on-site, loaded with my presentation.

    10.  I understand that should the event be cancelled due to an act of God (i.e. fire, flood, curtailment of transportation services, civil unrest, etc.) there will be no obligation in the part of the IOUG or myself, except for expenses already incurred by the speaker.

    11.  I understand that should the event be postponed due to the act of God (i.e. fire, flood, curtailment of transportation services, civil unrest, etc.), there will be no obligation in the part of the IOUG or myself, unless the event is able to be rescheduled, in which case both parties will work together to agree on an alternate date for the event to be held.

    12.  By checking the box, I signify that I understand and agree to all terms as written.  Failure to comply with the terms above will result in session cancellation; your registration discount will be forfeited.
