    Every year at COLLABORATE, IOUG honors the outstanding contributions of our members. We are proud to announce the 2018 IOUG Award Winners.

    David Start

    David has been a part of the IOUG community for 10+ years doing everything from speaking, writing articles, reviewer, track manager, conference committee chair, Director of Education, Vice President, and recently President. He has covered a wide range in his career from data warehousing, database administration, master data management, and collaboration technologies. David is stepping down from the board to take a role with Oracle. He is going to still be active within the community.

    Maria Colgan

    Maria Colgan is a master product manager at Oracle Corporation and has been with the company since version 7.3 was released in 1996. Maria’s core responsibility is creating material and lectures on the Oracle Database and the best practices for incorporating it into your environments. She is also responsible for getting the feedback from our customers and partners incorporated into future releases of the product.

    Prior to this role; she was the product manager for Oracle Database In-Memory and the Oracle Database query optimizer.  Maria is the primary author of the SQLMaria blog and a contributing author to the Oracle Optimizer blog.

    Mr. Gorman is a technical consultant for Delphix, who enable data virtualization with data masking to securely increase the agility of software development and testing.

    He is current treasurer of RMOUG (Rocky Mountain Oracle Users Group) and has been an active member since 1992. RMOUG is a 501(c)3 charitable non-profit and tax-deductible donations to scholarship programs are welcome. He also serves as an adviser to the boards of the Northern California Oracle Users Group (NoCOUG) and the Northeast Ohio Oracle Users Group (NEOOUG).

    Tim has co-authored six books on Oracle technology, and has performed technical review on seven more books, has been an Oracle ACE since 2007 and an Oracle ACE Director since 2012, has been a member of the Oak Table Network since 2002, and has presented at Oracle Open World, Collaborate, KScope, Hotsos, RMOUG, UKOUG, and Oracle users groups in lots of wonderful places around the world.

    Nassyam Basha

    Nassyam Basha, a technology expert with more than 11 years of profound Oracle Database experience. He holds Master's Degree in Computer Science. In 2014 he became Oracle Certified Master 11g. Nassyam has been honored Oracle ACE Director title based on his extraordinary contributions to the Oracle community in 2015. He was the 2nd Oracle ACE Director in India in Database Management space. He actively participates in Oracle related forums, such as OTN with a status of Super Hero, Oracle Support with the title of Guru and acts as an OTN moderator. He is persistent, sharing knowledge, extending help and has a high drive and dedication to excellence.

    He started his career with dBase and FoxPro, participated in several projects with FoxPro and Oracle Database from Oracle 7. He currently works as a Senior Principal Consultant at Data Intensity. Nassyam has co-authored his first book on Oracle Data Guard 11gR2 in 2013. He has recently co-authored another book entitled "Database Upgrade and Migration Methods " (2017). Nassyam has written 50+ articles and published in OTN, IOUG, Oracle scene and various other portals on technologies such as Data Guard, EM 13c, RAC, Oracle Cloud, 12c DB, GDS/GSM and Sharding technologies. He has deep knowledge in the business field of Finance, Retail, Health, Manufacturing, and Consulting. 

    In 2012 Nassyam has started presenting at various user group conferences, such as OTN Yathra, AIOUG Tech Days, SANGAM, and also appeared in international conferences like OOW/TROUG/OUGF. Nassyam maintains an Oracle technology blog (www.oracle-ckpt.com) and feel free to contact him at nassyambasha@gmail.com.  

    Nassyam is married and has a naughty but delightful 4-year-old daughter. In free time Nassyam spends plays cricket and also loves to indulge in video games.
